Clean my Mac isn't supported by Apple. The software I use is daisy disk which is really helpful and had a nice user interface.

I suggest avoiding Clean my Mac and anything that makes the same sort of claims.

My personal experience:
I have used Clean My Mac since it first came out. Never once have I had any problems using it. I am the type of person that reads instructions prior to usage of any product. No matter what it is. If I find the instructions are hard to understand, I dump the product & never look back.
CMM instructions are pretty much straight forword. CMM only cleans what I want. Its preferences are set according to what I want it do.
Since my MBP is 6 yrs old, I use CMM every 6 months. I use it as a stand-a-lone app. Meaning, I do not have it set up to open at log-in, automatically delete files, etc. I manually do what I want this app to do.
Sneaky. Watch out!
After buying CleanMyMac from the Mac App Store (I'll trust the App Store no more) it did nothing but take me to a sneaky download page for CleanMyMac2. Bad news.

Quentin, thanks for the warning but I cannot find CleanMyMac in the US Mac App Store. The only comparable product is CleanMyDrive which is of course equally useless.
Can you provide a link to it?
You're right. I was referring to CleanMyDrive as the offender. My mistake.
I was aware that CleanMyMac2 is bad news. It didn't occur to me that Apple would offer anything linked to it on the App Store. Another mistake.
Thanks for noting it.
Thanks for confirming that. The barriers for entry to the Mac App Store have become pretty low, and I was beginning to get concerned.
Hi!
CleanMyMac is not being sold via Apple App Store and it is the choice of the company. One can get the app at the site. If you are worried regarding the accreditation of the company, please check the BBB certificate 🙂http://www.bbb.org/sanjose/business-reviews/computer-software-publishers-and-dev elopers/macpaw-in-santa-clara-ca-253047#bbbseal
Not worried about accrditation of company just the shoddy software.

Yes, each user decides it, still it is better when the decision is based on facts.
issues with CleanMyMac 2 – the “helper” part of the application. The application decided to run on my MAC with no warning and take over 3 gigs of memory causing the MAC to slow to a crawl – forcing me to slowly shut down all my apps and reboot. I just had enough time to screen dump the “helper” destroying my MAC before I was forced to reboot.
Your product CleanMyMac 2 corrupts FINDER, and deletes email, to name a few
more issues:
