iTunes Sync Error with iPhone

While sync'ing my iPhone 4S (iOS 7.0.4) with iTunes (11.1.4.62) running on Windows 7, it gets to Step 3 of 6, and pop up an error that reads "Unable to load SyncUICoreLocalized.dll". Tried repairing, and uninstalling/re-installing both iTunes and iCloud.

Any help would be great.

This is now the latest problem I also have with iTunes. I've had 24 hours of mucking around after iTunes told me it had errors. The answer from the Support Forum was to completely remove all Apple software, run a Registry cleaner, and re-download and install QuickTime, iTunes, etc. Done all that, used Apple Software Update to get the latest iTunes (which strangely wasn't installed from the Apple website). After more mucking around I now finally have iTunes recognizing my iPhone but get the above error when I try and sync.

I, too, am looking forward to ending this Apple misery.

I fixed it!

I downloaded a copy of the file 'SyncUICoreLocalized.dll' from:

http://www.dllme.com/dll/download/15980/SyncUICoreLocalized.dll

and put it in C:\Program Files\iTunes, re-booted, and...same error. I then moved the dll file to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes, rebooted, and...same error. One more try, moved the file to C:\Windows/System32, re-booted, and...same error. Grrr!

I then went into Control Panel\Programs and Features and took the "Repair" option for iTunes, re-booted, and...no change. I then uninstalled iTunes and used Apple Software Update to do a (hopefully) clean install. Still no improvement.

Next I did the same "Repair" process in Control Panel\Programs and Features for:

- Apple Application Support, and

- Apple Mobile Device Support

re-booted, and voila!, it did a full sync.

Fingers crossed it stays OK. Good luck to anybody else.

I got the same error but I might have found an easy sollution (hopefully for everybody) by coincidence.

So while syncing it got stuck on the "sync contacts" part. I was ready to go out, needed my iPhone 4S quickly so I pressed eject and stopped the sync-proces. Then I closed iTunes. When I got back home I retried syncing, got the same error but this time it kept on syncing everything as normal and the new contacts were add to my iPhone.

Hope I've helped

Ever since I installed the latest iTunes update, I've had a variety of problems. My iPhone actually lost all sound. I couldn't hear calls coming in, couldn't make calls going out, no reminders, text notifications, etc. So, I got my replacement phone yesterday only to find that iTunes no longer recognized my attached phone. I had to get tech support to help before I could back up my old phone and transfer data to my replacement. An essential driver had been corrupted. That got fixed, but then I couldn't sync. After nearly 6 hours, tech support still hadn't solved the problem - not for lack of trying. 🙂 Anyway, I tried to sync again this morning and got the "Resource not found: Unable to load SyncUICoreLocalized.dll" message." I then happened to check in this forum and followed the lead from the post above.

I have an iPhone 4S and Windows 8 and use Outlook 2013. Here's what worked for me.

  • Close iTunes
  • Close Outlook
  • Open Control Panel/Programs
  • Right click on "Apple Mobile Device Support"
  • Select "Repair"
  • Wait a few moments ("Repair" doesn't show any indications of status, so I just wanted to be sure it was done.)
  • Open iTunes
  • Resync (I selected to replace my phone Contacts/Calendar from my Outlook, but that may not be necessary.)

Instead of Sync hanging for hours like it did yesterday, Sync took less than 10 seconds total. I didn't even have to reboot. YAY!

Try syncing your iPhone, then go into the iPhone sync settings and then go to info tab and un-check all the selections "Sync Contacts" "Sync Calendars" etc, leave sub-categories checked. Then sync but choose to keep the info instead of removing it when asked. After syncing go back into the same settings and re-check everything you un-checked and sync again.
