Moving Library to New PC and Retaining "Date Added"

Hello,

I'm attempting to transfer my iTunes library to a new PC. I'm not too great in the technical department so bear with me.

  1. The library on my old PC was a combination of items purchased from iTunes and stored in the folder "C:\Users\Derek\Music\iTunes" and a folder of ripped CDs and other downloads in "C:\Users\Derek\Music\My Music" and "C:\Users\Derek\Music\Amazon MP3"
  2. I want to back up and transfer my library to my new computer via an external "G:\" hard drive.
  3. My new computer has a funky partitioned harddrive and not enough memory in the "C:\" drive for all of my music. I'd like to store the new library on another partition in this PC on the "D:\" drive...
  4. I'd like to do this while maintaining my "Date Added" information and playlists in iTunes.

Can someone patiently walk me through this?

Thanks,

Derek
