Q: updated itunes and now doesn't work at all

after updating itunes on my computer to latest version (11.1.4) for 64 bit windows 8, itunes no longer works at all. When I click on icon to open itunes, program won't start. I only get error messages: The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes. Error7 (windows error 126)

    Hey there JasonJCook,

It sounds like you were at first unable to launch iTunes after a recent update, and now you have uninstalled the iTunes application and cannot re install it due to another error message. I would perform the troubleshooting in the following article named:

Issues installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926

It will assist you with completely removing not just iTunes but all its associated programs, to be reinstalled fresh from the download page:

    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    All the best,

    Sterling
