it keeps saying "failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found reinstalling may fix" ... I tired and it says same thing what now ..i have 30 gig of music backed up to a seagate portible hard drive,,,,, do i just scrap this laptop

I simply removed all program files related to iTunes. Cleaned up my disc and rebooted then simply downloaded the new version available on Apple iTunes and everything just worked smoothly. I did not even lose a single tune that was in my library :-)
