Numbering, indents, aligning - impossible to achieve

Does anybody know how to create functioning numbering of headlines in the latest Pages? I can do "1. Heading", but I haven't managed to get one level down to "1.1 Subheading". Can anyone please help? Also, how does one align the heading to the centre? The heading moves, but number always stays on the side. Thanks
