I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling all related software to make sure you have the latest version of our software installed. The following Knowledge Base article offers up the step-by-step for your to follow:

General installation troubleshooting
- Empty your Temp folder and restart your computer. Windows XPWindows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8
- Completely remove iTunes and its related components.
- Windows XP: Follow these steps to remove and reinstall iTunes and other software components for Windows XP.
- Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Follow these steps to remove and reinstall iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
Notes - Songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and won't be deleted by removing iTunes.
- You may need to remove and reinstall iTunes several times while following these steps. It's important to remove iTunes and its components again after you empty the Temp folder.
- Install the latest version of iTunes.
After you empty your Temp folder and remove iTunes and its related components, you can install the latest version of iTunes.
