i have an issue, after changing my hard drive to a ssd one and clean installing the 10.8.5, one of my hard drive's partition called 'black' as you can see in the image is continuously appearing on the sidebar, but! not in the device list, above that. every time i remove it, and after a while, it's again there.
i tried removing the sidebar preference file, but still after a while it's here again.
any permanent solution to this?

(I assume you mean com.applefinder.plist file?)
After you do that, try resetting the PRAM.

why did you suggest of doing a PRam reset?
I did it, just in case, but no luck.
still there! and i can't think why, that icon appears on the favorites list!
Have you tried dragging 'black' to the Devices heading? If so, does it stay there when you restart?
Did you check permissions on disk? After check/repair try to remove icon again.
i have it on the 'devices' and it stays always there. it's just that suddenly it re-appears on the favorites list.
i have already done that a couple of times, still....
Is it seen in Disk Utility?
the 'black' is a partition on the disc, so yes it is seen in the Disk Utility.
But not twice.
And you didn't have Dropbox folder on this disc?
I didn't understand your question, but, yes I do have the dropbox folder on that disc. :-)
