my devices won't connect to iTunes 11.1.4.62

I just updated this morning to iTune 11.1.4.62 and I downloaded the icloud software at the same time. I wish I hadn't upgraded. Now my iTunes won't detect either my iPhone3 or iPod Touch (2nd Gen). Naturally, since they\ devices aren't detected, I can't synch either devices. The software on both the iPhone and iPod Touch are the most up to date versions. I use an up to date version of Windows 8.1. Everything was working fine before I did the iTunes updated.

Any help with my problem would be greatly appreciated.
