ipod touch 4th generation wont let me sign into facetime!

had my ipod for a while now but only recently tryed 2 use facetime. id never tried 2 use facetime b4 so i had 2 set up a login for it. then i tried 2 log in and it wouldnt work! i saw people saying 2 change my dns network settings but that still didnt work. the 1s i tryed were "8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4" and "8.8.8" and i live in northern ireland. are they the propper dns codes i should be using?

i just keep getting this mgs> "facetime activation.could not sign in. please check your network connection and try again." please help this is verry frustrating.
