iPhone should remain locked when activating Siri through headphones

I have not been able to find any other discussion or solution to this issue but would like to build a movement to get it fixed.

When you activate Siri using the Apple headphones click button, it unlocks the phone and anything that touches the screen cancels or messes with the Siri request. The real life impact of this is that when walking with headphones on and phone in pocket (ie: probably the most useful time to have and use Siri), 99% of the time the phone screen will get hit by your pants (either leg or outer pocket, depending on which way screen is facing...) and then cancel Siri. This makes no sense whatsoever.

The parallel is that when you have your headphones on, phone in pocket, and answer an incoming call, it smartly does not unlock the phone, because doing so would expose the "End Call" button to getting hit by your pants and hanging up on the person.

So it is not like Apple has not thought about the perils of an unlocked phone in a pocket or a pocket book, which means the Siri thing strikes me as a really easy fix, it just has to actually get fixed.

Happy to hear any and all thoughts on this one.

Thanks,

Jon
