I am new to Apple and am desperate for some help. I downloaded a whole range of updates over the weekend, including the updates for iTunes 11.1.4 and Safari 6.1.1. I now cannot do anything with the updates. When I select the UPDATE button, a message appears as "Waiting" but nothing happens. On the screen the "Checking for updates" message stays on the screen. I cannot quit the App store and can also not reboot the machine as the message appears that updates are still in progress. Any ideas please?
