Jan 27, 2014 11:46 AM in response to Brookesdaddyby Kappy,About AirPlay and Airplay Mirroring
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). For non-qualifying Macs you can try using Air Parrot.

Jan 27, 2014 2:08 PM in response to Brookesdaddyby Kappy,★HelpfulAre you using 10.8.5 or later? Did you install iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.9? Beyond that I couldn't tell you. I don't use the feature. As far as I'm aware if the feature is available on Mid 2011 iMacs, then it's available on all of them.

May 30, 2014 8:12 AM in response to Brookesdaddyby mblee,This is interesting that you say you have Mountain Lion 10.7.5. Mountain Lion is a 10.8.# and Lion is 10.7.5. You obviously have Lion, not Mountain Lion. Lion does not support airplay where Mountain Lion or Mavericks does support airplay. I'm not sure about the hardware, but will find this out shortly after I upgrade this computer to Mavericks from Lion.
