Restore Macbook pro early 2011 to factory settings

Hi folks,

I'm giving away my early 2011 Macbook pro to another family member and wish to restore it back to factory settings, to clear out the hard drive and make them feel like they're getting a brand new mac 🙂. It is currently running Mavericks 10.9.1 and I have the install disks that came when I bought it for Snow Leopard 10.6.6.

Firstly is this possible? and secondly, I would like some advice as to how to go about this - I'm not overly familiar with the inner workings of Macs, so some easy step by step advice would be fantastic.

I have completed a full back up and have copies of all my important documents and photos etc
