Q: Hp monitor turns pink

Bought an hp 27xi. Works fine on PC but on the Mac when it wakes up its pink. I am using an hdmi  to divi apple adapter.  If I use just hdmi cable when it wakes up the screen is black but the mouse cursor is visible. Need help. Is the monitor defective? Seems like a Mac issue.

First check that the HDMI cable, and the adapter if you're using one, are securely inserted at both ends.

    From the menu bar, select

     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Displays ▹ Display

In the window that opens on the external display, set the Resolution to Scaled, and select the HDTV resolution that matches the display (usually either 720p or 1080i.) If necessary, adjust the Underscan slider so that the picture fills the screen. (Credit for this solution to ASC member Donlybakare.)

You may also need to select a different profile or calibrate the display in the Color tab to get the best possible color balance.

If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may have a damaged or defective cable.

I tried all the settings no luck. The apple adapter seems to be ok. So I tried a better hdmi cable and that worked. I'm not sure why the apple adapter does t work. But the problem is resolved. Thx for your help
