So since the official launch date of Mavericks I had my laptop at work and let it do its thing. Now since that day I can not get my iCloud to work. I get "This apple ID is unsupported"... Of course it's supported I've used it for years since I used to my 3G and my iPhone 4. I also used it when I first purchased my Mac up until the upgrade.

Have you tried signing out of iCloud and signing back in again.
Well the last time it was signed in was when it was on mountain lion a couple months ago. Then when I did the Mavericks update everything was signed out. Now since then that's only thing that won't let me sign in just iCloud. So purchases work iMessage etc.
I'm not really sure that that is the same thing. If you try to sign out, it will remove the account from your computer and you can then try again. I suspect you are currently in a sort of limbo stage where your account details are already entered in but a connection cannot be made.
