iPad2 backed up to a MacBook. Want to change computers.

My iPad2 has been backed up regularly to a MacBook. I'd like to change the "hot synching" and back ups toi my MacBookPro. How does one do that ? Does one "deauthenticate" the MacBook and synch the iPad2 to the MacBookPro and life is good once again ?
