This absolutely solved the problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was having the exact same error messages as Mike.

Glad it worked for you. The iTunes program and the iTunes library are in separate locations and any corruption, update, removal, or reinstallation of iTunes will have no affect on your library.

Maybe you need to check out this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376 There was a slight issue with Windows and the version of iTunes, 11.1.4. I believe this was addressed by now, since we are on iTunes 11.1.5.
