playlists on ipod shuffle

I just reinstalled iTunes under Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. My previous playlists on my iPod Shuffle (4th gen) show up fine in iTunes but the voice on the Shuffle is now male (it used to be female) and the playlists are now just 'playlist 1' 'playlist 2' etc..

How do I get back the playlist names and revert the iPod voice to female?
