Is an internet speed of 5.5 mbps going to be fast enough?

I am looking to move house and the internet connection at the new property, which is in a rural area, appears to be running at 5.5 mbps. I like to buy HD films from iTunes Store and watch them via Apple TV. Is an internet speed of 5.5 mbps going to be fast enough?

If you actually get 5 1/2 Mbps then you may have to wait arouind 20 minutes to be able to start an HD (1080p) movie.
