New inserted RAM not showing in system profiler

Hey,

I just inserted new 1GB RAM to my iBook G4. However the System Profiler>Hardware>Memory section still shows that I have 512 MB built-in(DIMM0) and that the other slot (DIMM1) is empty. Does that mean the memory did not install properly? Or does this mean the memory was not suitable for my computer? I added this memory http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/312518986.html

Model Name: iBook G4

Model Identifier: PowerBook6,7

Running OS 10.5.8

Thanks!

Make sure you are using the correct ram module according to http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/specs/ibook_g4_1.42_14.html since that should accept a 1 GB module. Also, be sure the module is seated all the way, when they are not fully inserted they fail to show.
