How do you delete an App in the Dock?

Question

How do you delete an App in the Dock?

I have downloaded an app called Freecorder and it will not let me get rid of it on my Dock. I have tried to "poof" it away and even put it in my trash can. HELP!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 7.0.4

Have you made sure you have Quit the app first (Command+q), not just closed the window?

Have you tried right-clicking on the Dock icon, choosing Options and then "Remove from Dock?"

Try command - click drag and make sure you move it well away from the dock. Sometimes a couple of inches is required.
