Why can't I download my pre-ordered album on the release date?

I pre-ordered Jamie Grace's album "Ready to Fly" back in November when I had an iTunes card. Today, the album released and I received the email giving me the link to download it but I can't do so. I only have $0.14 left from that iTunes card and I wondering if this has something to do with it. Do I need to purchase another iTunes card or put a credit card on my account?
