I have a question for everyone, in my day, the # symbol was called the Pound symbol or Pound sign.

When did this # start being called a "hashtag" symbol or sign? And when, where or how did the name for this symbol change or originate from?

It was called both even years ago when you called it a pound symbol. The correct name has always been "hash" symbol.
