I have been trying all day to reinstall itunes after this newest update basically ruined my day. I used the control panel to remove programs as usual and then checked to make sure it was "really deinstalled" as per the instructions. lone behold the "bonjour" folder is still there. When I right click and attempt to delet I get the following message:
mdnsNSP.dll Access is Denied
How do I reinstall itunes if I can't even deinstall it?
Reboot into safe mode to delete the folder. Reboot and install iTunes.

thanks I'll try - quick question while I have you - I am not an administrator on this computer and do not have access to the person who is. I'm having the same problem with the crazy updating itunes thing. Am I going to be able to fix this if I can't run as administrator?
p.s. how do I reboot in safe mode?
Depending on the way the machine has been set up you may be able use the right-click option to Run as administrator anyway, or the reinstall might work OK regardless.

I managed to get into the computer in safe mode as admin. this still doesn't work. when I tried to delete in safe mode I got the MSVCR80 error everyone else is getting. and now it keeps popping up when I try to delete anything.
Grrr. Run services.msc from the start menu and stop the Bonjour service. Change the start-up type to disabled. Try to remove it again.
