I actually does( not) on some occasions. I just played around and lured water on my iPhone 6s case. And I take off my case to reveal for any water and I look at my flash on my phone to see it water logged. I ordered 2 replacement and this is the second one. I AM NEVER BUYING THIS CASS EVER AGAIN

Actually, you probably don't. Liquid damage voids the warranty.

They will check the moisture sensors at the genius bar. When they do, and determine that you got liquid in the phone, a replacment phone will cost you $269. It will inherit the balance of the original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer.

If you dropped it in salt water, there's pretty much nothing you can do. It's toast.

Lifeproof doesn't exactly stand behind the 'lifeproofiness' of their products...

Their warranty only covers the case, It does not cover your phone.

I would take the time to read through the information from Lifeproof again. See what they say if your phone was to get water damaged with their case on it. Contact their customer service to see what is covered. No one here can make a decision for Apple or for Lifeproof.
