Please help!!!

I can't connect to itunes because my ipod is apparently formatted for mac computers and I can't restore to reformat it without connecting to itunes. What do I do? I just want music and have been trying to fix this for hours!!! So frustrating... I'd appreciate any suggestions, I've tried everything on the troubleshooting list.

iPod nano, Windows 8
