I have to restore my iPhone 4s to be able to sync it with iTunes

When I try to connect and sync my iPhone 4s (6.1.3) to iTunes on my new MacBook Air it says I have to restore my iPhone 😟 And I really don't want to do that!!

*I have some songs on my iphone that aren't in the music library 😐
