Group messages will be sent using iMessage if all recipients have iMessage enabled. If not, the conversation will be sent as MMS. Group messages use MMS even if the content is text only.

Does the android recipient receive your SMS/MMS when sending to the recipient alone?

Is the android recipient a former iPhone user that had iMessage enabled?

If no to both questions, SMS/MMS are exchanged via a carrier's cellular network only. If the group message is being successfully sent and the same when sending to the android recipient alone, what happens to the message after that has nothing to do with the cell phone that sent the message. You and/or the recipient need to take up a problem with receiving SMS/MMS that was successfully sent with the carrier.

yes he recieves them when sent alone.

yes he is a former iPhone user that had iMessage enabled.

but for some reason when sending out this group thread it does not send out as an MMS but only iMessage. so only the 3 other iMessage users can see my text
