How can I find the WPA2 password on the MacBook Pro?

Yes, you can find it. I do this all the time, it is most useful when a friend can't remember their own password. I show them it's on their own Mac.


  1. Open the Keychain Access application and type the network name into the Find field.
  2. The network name should appear in the list.
  3. Double-click the network name. A window with the item info will open, make sure the Attributes tab is selected.
  4. Click Show Password. Keychain Access will ask you to enter an admin username and password (on this Mac).
  5. Once you enter your admin username and password, the WPA2 password will be displayed in the Show Password field.
