how do I share a mouse between laptop and desktop mac

You must unpairing when you want to use it with the other and then pair with the other computer. You cannot go back and forth without first unpairing and then pairing.

Not really since a Bluetooth device can only be paired with one computer at a time. Only other option is two mice.
