Pink tinted screen at start up

I have a 27 cinema display (I think it's 27, it's a hand me down) and it's connected to my MacBook Pro. Not sure I can offer too much more information on the specifics of the equipment. My issue is every time I wake my computer from sleep while it's connected the display the display has a pink hued tint to it. When I unplug the thunderbolt cable and plug it back in my display works just fine. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?
