After the latest upgrade of iTunes, my iPad, iPhone, and iPod are not detected when I connect them to the computer, I am running iTunes 11.1.4.62, the Apple Device Support component is installed. My OS is Windows 8.1 x64.
I can tell a lot of folks are having the same issue.

im having the same problem it happened as soon as i updated itunes now i cant put music onto my ipod have you got a solution for this?

This is a major flaw between Apple and Microsoft, they should work to solve this issue, many people affected. I'll check if there are any older version of iTunes available.

check if your Apple Mobile Device service is running.
another suggestion. try uninstall every single apple programs 1 by 1 then reboot pc and download the latest setup and install.
check ur Ipod service if its running or not
Try uninstalling the itunes and all other apple programs. Reboot windows then download latest installer that support ur windows and install. it should fix most of the problems. unless u have problems downloading or installing
