Late 2013 Retina Battery Life - Not good

So I'm still within my return period by a few days on my macbook and I just want to make sure I have a normal battery. I am currently at 100%, 25% brightness and its estimating I only have 6 hours left? All I have open is chrome and gfxcardstatus to ensure I'm on intergrated graphics. That is nowhere near the 8 hours quoted by apple. I downloaded a battery tester app and the percent and times don't seem to line up.

Any input? I actually owned a 2012 macbook pro with retina and when I first got it the battery estimates were in the 10 hour range, this is quite a drop for a laptop that is supposed to get an hour additional battery.

One of the help documents say to try booting into safe mood, which doesn't help either. In fact its worse in safe mode saying I only have 3 hours left with 97%!

As an experiment:

1) Don't use gfxcardstatus (the integrated graphics should be auto-selected for how you are using it anyway)

2) Don't use Chrome (it is flagged as using "significant energy") but try Safari instead (again just as an experiment)

What do you see as a battery estimate?
