Mobile Me Services error message when I try to start MS Outlook programs

I am using Windows XP SP3 and recently had to re-install iTunes as the recommended update wouldn't work. I finally was able to uninstall iTunes and re-install it and thankfully no data was lost so I could sync our iPod, iPhone and iPad.

But, now when I try to start MS Outlook where we have Contacts, Notes and Calendar, the program opens, but freezes then an error message comes uo indicating a problem with Mobile Me Services! Most annoying, but strangely after about 5 minutes, the program unfreezes. I worry that this will affect syncing.

What is a solution?

Thanks

Windows XP

I checked and there was a MobileMe Control Panel. I looked it up in

Windows Control Panel . I took the chance and removed the program - and it worked! I was able

to open all the components of MS Office without messages and freeze, then

synced my iPad and iPod with no problems so hopefully all is well.

I'm surprised Apple would create such a situation, and then not warn

users accordingly.

Apple did alert users, over 2 years ago that MobileMe would be shutting down and be replaced by iCloud.

The issue is not Apple or iTunes but rather users that have chosen to not uninstall the MobileMe application once the service was shut down.

I am actually surprised that it has taken this long for the issue to appear.

I have the sames problem since updating iTunes in February 2014.

Solution: There is a post @ http://www.en.fixpst.net/fix-outlook.html wich describes the problem. Summary isgo into File>Options>Add-Ins from within Outlook. In the dialogue that comes up there is a Drop Down called "Manage:" Select COM Add-Ins and press the GO button. MobileMe is listed as an add-in that starts with Outlook. Disable it by de-selecting the check box to the left of MobileMe and click OK. Restart Outlook and it should work.

Otherwise look at the post on the link which shows more details.
