Q: Does OSX Maverick slow down performance on older machines

I have a seventeen inch MACbook pro with 2 megs of memory, The system is running very slow after the upgrade to Maverick. Would anyone recomend going back to Mountain Lion or Lion?

2 GB is not enough RAM, in my opinion. However, that might not be the only reason it is slow.

If you don't want to upgrade your RAM or search for the incompatible apps, reverting back may be the only choice.

No, actually, i wouldnt.  Snow Leopard? Maybe.

How long has your machne been upgraded? It might just be indexing.

Have you looked for older, incompatible software? Mavericks seems pretty fussy about system modifying stuff.
