power button

Yesterday my trackpad and keyboard randomly stopped working/freezing. As of today the macbook wont power on at all. I have a green light on the power adapter but when i press the power buton - nothing. I have tried resetting pram and smc to no avail. Somebody told me it could be a problem with the ribbon that connects the top case to the logic board. Any ideas anyone ?
