I have a bunch of .js files in my developer folder (in finder) and wanted ot know if I can delete them, what they are and how I can stop them from appearing on my macbook pro? Any hlep you could provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can try to put all those files in a folder and move that folder to trash.
observe the functionality of the macbook during this period ,if all seems good , you can delete them
.js are javascript files which may usually support MS office apps
You do not really give enough information
.js are javascript files.
open them and see what they are, this may give you a clue.
