I'm logged onto my macbook under my wife's profile, and I'm about to delete all the photos that are stored on my iphoto on my macbook, but I don't want to delete them from my wife's iphone. I've changed the settings on iphoto so they no longer auto import, but want to clear some disk space.

If they are in the camera roll on the iPhone then deleting on the Mac will ahve no effect on them - if they are in your PhotoStream and you delete form PhotoStream on teh Mac they will be deleted from PS everywhere - if they are in an event on the Mac then deleting has not effect on yoru iphone

And you know it is always a good idea to do one and verify before "deleting away" just in case

OK, just in case, I've just deleted a couple of photos out of the events bit of the iphoto library, how long should I give it to see if they are deleted off the phone?
Also, some of the folders, although in the events section, are called "Jan 2014 photo stream" - are these classed as being part of the PS??
No - MMM YYYY PhotoStream is an event in iPhoto of photos imported form PhotoStream during that month - PS in iPhoto is in the source pane to the left under web
