It will not work in a wall outlet or computer usb outlet. It was working with the wall up until yesterday and hasn't worked with a computer since last week. I have tried three wall outlets and several computer usb outlets. I am not able to take it to a genius bar in an apple store to get it checked out. Any suggestions?

You might try using a different charger and cable and see if that helps. If that does not solve the problem, it needs to go to an Apple store genius bar for testing by the techs.
I forgot to mention that I have used two different cables. I also can't get to an Apple store as the closest is 3 hours away

- Try another cable. Have yo verified the cable you tried are good? i.e., they work on another device?
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
