how to conect a smart tv to airport extreme

I connected my samsung smart tv on airport extreme using a wired connection and the internet is working perfectly, but I can not access the videos that are stored on the external hd connected to airport, how do I fix this? Additional info: The external hard drive is configured and working properly, I can access it from my pc by wifi.
