How do you close out applications on a Macbook Pro?

 

My MAC dies quickly, and I think it is because of not shutting down my apps.

    With the application open and running, type command and Q ( two keys).

     

    My MAC dies quickly, and I think it is because of not shutting down my apps.

     

    Please explain what you mean by "dies quickly". Open applications cannot "kill" a Mac, quickly or slowly.
