Feb 14, 2014 6:53 AM in response to JF Fourieby S Gora,★HelpfulThanks JF Fourie !!! These set of instructions worked for me instantly. Thank You
Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver Software.
- Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
- Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
- Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
- Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
- Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
- Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.

Feb 15, 2014 2:58 PM in response to JF Fourieby Oliag0,I upgraded my iphone from a 4s to a 5s today and after updating iTunes this morning my new phone would not show up on iTunes. I spoke with an Apple rep for nearly a half hour, following all his instructions to no avail. He then told me he would call me back in 15 minutes and while I was waiting I Googled for help...came here and followed JF Fourie's advice with success. I am still waiting for that return call an hour later....
Thanks JF Fourie!!

Feb 21, 2014 7:31 PM in response to JF Fourieby savvirose,I tried to do what you said, but on the very first question I got stuck. I switched from a 5 to a 5s today, and this is the first time I've ever not had my phone show up on iTunes. I plugged it in with a Belkin USB cable first, and that didn't work, then I tried it with the actual iPhone 5 charger cable and with neither one did EITHER the 5 or 5s show up in my device manager. Help???

Feb 21, 2014 7:43 PM in response to JF Fourieby savvirose,Nevermind, I have now gotten to the point where I entered the Mobile Device Support, but there is no file named Drives there. I am not sure what I am supposed to do from here.

Mar 3, 2014 3:49 PM in response to JF Fourieby AppleUpdatesSuck,I still cannot find my AMDS under the Device manager. I can find it under Uninstall programs as well as local services. There is no instance of it in device manager. Seeing as this seems to be fixing everyone elses problem, I would like a response quickly before I chuck my iPhone out the window since they are worthless and go buy a windows phone and change to spotify or another music sharing website where I can get much cheaper unlimited music without having to deal with apple and its ****** *** services.
