Oct 13, 2015 4:00 AM in response to wafiullahby turingtest2,Try the following:
- Open Control Panel > Device Manager
- Plug in your device
- Locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
- Right-click and select Update Driver Software...
- Click Browse my computer for driver software
- Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers - Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
- Click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
- Click Next, then Close and exit Device Manager
If that hasn't fixed things see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. A full tear down and rebuild may be in order.

Oct 13, 2015 11:15 AM in response to SLianaD11by mddlfc,I also had this problem, but this is how I sorted it:
I had to totally un install iTunes by removing the 5 key programmes and in this order or it wont work:
1. Delete iTunes
2. Delete Apple software update
3. Delete Mobile device support
4. Delete Bonjour
5. Delete the apple installer 32-bit and the 64-bit if you have one or both
now restart your Pc/Laptop and download the latest iTunes
once downloaded reconnect your device via the USB data transfer cable and your phone will now appear in iTunes

Oct 17, 2015 11:25 AM in response to SLianaD11by colej1999,Try going to this website Apple - Support - Downloads
It is an Apple support page. I was having the same problem you were having so I removed the version of iTunes I had on my computer and downloaded an older version. After that iTunes started picking my iPhone up right away. Hope this helps and good luck.

Nov 12, 2015 2:50 PM in response to SLianaD11by Glitchberry,Don't know if this has been solved yet, but I was having the same problem, and this worked for me: http://www.technipages.com/itunes-fix-iphone-or-ipod-not-detected-in-windows
If you can't/don't want to use the link, I'll write it out here:
1: Ensure the latest iTunes is installed
2: Open "Control Panel"
3: Select "Hardware and Sound"
4: Select "Drivers and Printers"
5: Your iPhone or iPod should be displayed in the "Unspecified" section. Right-click it and select "Properties".
- Note: If you don't see your device listed here, ensure you have selected to trust the PC on the device and you are using a supported cable.
6: Select the "Hardware" tab, then click the "Properties" button.
7: From the "General" tab, select the "Change Settings" button.
8: Select the "Driver" tab, then select "Update Driver"
9: Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
10: Select "Browse..." then navigate to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers" If you don't have this folder, check in "C:\Program Files (86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers".
11: Click "Next">"Close"
