Aug 12, 2014 1:24 PM in response to boss42by turingtest2,Most likely it means that the iPhone driver needs to be reinstalled.
Try Andrei Cerbu's post here, JF Fourie's post here, or see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5, forcing a driver update.
Different perspectives on the same issue. Hopefully you can make one of them work for you.

Aug 12, 2014 5:20 PM in response to turingtest2by boss42,Following instruction of Cerbu and Fourie I selected device manager but I did not see portable device or other device so I cannot continue that instruction to install iphone driver, is any other way to do it.
One thing I want to mention is when I turned on my iphone 4 on window 7 or I did press/hold power and home button it showed the Apple logo and it displayed the cable connection to Itune so I connected usb cable to computer but it do nothing.

Aug 12, 2014 5:28 PM in response to boss42by turingtest2,Reset your device for a start.
See the steps in the second box of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it. This is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Aug 29, 2014 9:40 PM in response to JF Fourieby TripleFlyingV,Thank you JF Fourie! I NEVER could have figured that out in a million years. Thank you to you for posting that solution, would love to know how you figured that out! Thankfully I didn't mess around with the issue very long before I googled my problem and found your solution after unsuccessfully trying what Apple recommended. You are talented! Thanks again!

Sep 2, 2014 5:43 PM in response to JF Fourieby dchbbc,The only issue I have with this, for me, it seems it's a one or the other issue. Either I get the drivers for iTunes and not My Computer or I get the drivers for My Computer but not iTunes. I HAVE had my phone showing in both before but it seems I'm only getting one or the other now if I update my driver as you suggest. Your way opens in iTunes but not for My Computer. If I do so unplugging over and over at times I can get the driver for My Computer loaded but it takes out the driver for iTunes. Any suggestions?
