When it pops up "Trust this computer?" Does it give you an option to say yes? If so the. Tell it to trust this computer.
I push "trust" and nothing happens. Phone just vibrates.
i have this same issue
Make sure your phone is Unlocked. If you have a pass code on it then it will not allow iTunes to connect to it. So unlock your phone first and then plug it in.
No passcode. Just slide to unlock.
Hmmm I don't know why it's not working...is iTunes updated?
Yes, just updated iTunes to 11.4.1.
i have a 5 and 4 s they are both doing the same thing
That's strange....is your phone updated?
Yep, 7.0.4
Try restating your computer and your phone.
To solve most of iPhone os problems you can perform a soft reset which will not change anything inside the phone
It'll simply remove the errors
To do that
1.Hold power button for 5 seconds
2.without releasing power button press home button and keep both pressed till the apple logo comes up
3.Now release both buttons
Your phone has now been reset
If this doesnt work then you can try restoring it again from itunes.
it doesnt show in itunes at all
andi have done the soft reset already
I'm having the same problem as lyndelfromcharlotte. I've tried the other fixes suggested including soft reset. When I connect my phone to my computer, Windows 8, with updated Apple software on both computer and iPhone 5, the phone doesn't appear on iTunes.
This is a known Apple issu at the moment ( I have inside sources as I dealt wwith this case all night at work *HINT*) and there is a solution that's worked for me every time someone chatted in about this issue.
Go to http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538 and go down to Section 5 "Verfiy Apple Mobile device USb driver is installed.". When you get to the device manager and see the "Apple iPhone" driver listed in portable device or Universal Serial Bus Controllers, right click it and go to "Update Driver." Now it WILL say it is updated, but you have to force the update manually. Once you right click the Update driver, choose "Browse from my Computer Software" And then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer." and then choose "Have disk." I am FULLY aware you do not have a physical disk, but the file is on your computer. Once you tap Have Disk, go to Browse. This will bring up a window where you can follow this File Path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
You will find a file that says usbaapl or usbaapl64 (if you have the 64 bit version of windows) Double click on that, and start the install of that file. Once the install is finished, check iTunes. I bet you it's listed now!!
