Addesses willl not go from Address Panel to new email. Have tried Disk Utility and unpluging, no change.
Recently I have the same problem. I think right after i downloaded the latestSoftware update.
After multiple exchanges, my contact here said.... 'Grin and Bear it'.
I hope someone can find a solution. Not user freindly in present condition.
I have learned that in Mavericks you must hit the "To" in the upper left corner of the Address Panel..

Your suggestion is much better than before altho still not the auto click transfer.
I also discovered that holding down 'Control-Command' we can chose as many as we wish then click either the To:, Cc: or Bcc: to transfer addresses........

I have a new MacBookPro Retina running v10.9.3
Previously I used a MacBook running 10.6.8, then transferred files and folders from it to the MBP via Thunderbolt & ethernet cable
So far in Mail > previous recipients > I can see 20 addresses, all of which I have used to send emails but, today when sending emails I get a choice of 260 addresses, some of which are in my current Address book, but most are years old and were deleted years ago
My problem: Mail > Windows > address panel > I can see both old and recent addresses but cannot remove the unwanted ones. The usual > click on > delete results only in a plaintive CLICK, despite using the suggestion offered here.
Advice will be appreciated
