Hi,
I am going travelling for a few months and so I will be selling my iMac to a friend. However I would still like access to my itunes library and I will be purchasing a macbook when I return home. Can I store my music library if I purchase itunes match and then delete everything from my iMac or will it also delete the saved music?

Hi Alice,
All of your music that has been added to iCloud will be saved so as long as you maintain your iTunes Match subscription. You will be able to access your library to play or download songs again on any authorized Apple device.
First read this: FAQ: Why iTunes Match Can Not Be Used as a Backup
So, before you sell your Mac make sure all your personal data is backed up to an external HDD then put that HDD in a safe place. When you return you will be able to use it to restore your data to the new Mac.
