My backup disk won't mount on my desktop. The preferences window says it is not available. I am runng Lion on a late 2007 Macbook.

My external backup disk will not show up on my desktop anymore. Always did before. Using WD external backup disk.Any suggestions?

MacBook, Version 10.7.5

Try power cycling the entire network


That means powering off every device in any order that you want

Wait a few minutes

Start the modem first and let it run 2-3 minutes

Start the next device connected to the modem next, and let it run a full minute

Keep starting devices one at a time about a minute apart until the entire network is back up


Check the network for proper operation
