This disk cannot be used to start up on your computer - OS X Mavericks

Hello All,


I need some help. I ran into this error and after spending hours surfing through these forums I found the below article:

However, when I open my DiskUtil I get "This partition can't be modified". See Screen Shot below

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.


Currently running Version 10.8.5 on a MBA from Mid 2012

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Thank you Eric Root for the quick reply. However that didn't work. As you can see from the discutil command below for some reason the drive is disk02s0 and that partition does not show up in the above Disk Utility App. I don't know how to "decrease" the partition volume without it being in the Disk Utility App in order to load Mavericks. I am at a loss for now....
